Robert Häusser's work has been honored with many awards. He received the most important one in 1995, the Hasselblad Prize, the Nobel Prize for Photography. Among the most important photographers in the world, he was the first German photographer to receive this highest honor. His photographic estate and his complete archive have been housed in the Reiss-Engelhorn-Museen in Mannheim since 2002, where they are administered by the Forum Internationale Photographie (FIP). His pictures require the viewer to take a contemplative approach in order to discover their existential-philosophical content. In the pictorial interpretation of a situation, Häusser's works reveal a “more” of reality and an inner state.
